To Mother and Father

(on death of their child)

Father L.J. Flynn

There’s a corner up in heaven

Where the little babies play

And our Blessed Mother watches

All throughout the live long day.

They’re a happy lot, these babies

Sure the reason’s very plain

For they’ve missed the world’s contagion

Came unscathed, without its pain,

‘Tis an angel band they call them,

And you both should happy be,

You’re the parents of an angel,

‘cause your baby’s there you see.

Yes, and smiling down upon you

With an innocence sublime,

Waiting, watching for the parents

It will meet again in time.

You should never be rebellious,

Rather thank a loving God

For your little guardian Angel,

As along life’s way you plod.

With a faith that never falters,

Pledge yourselves to meet your baby,

In that better happy land.

Sweet Baby Nicholas

 By Denise Schulteisz

There are no answers for this tragedy; there are no answers to explain.

Nothing anyone can say or do can ever ease our pain.

We were all so excited when you moved from California to here,

Who would’ve thought we would only know you for a year.

You had a special smile that could light up the sky, your face,

your chubby cheeks, and the twinkle in your eye.

Your personality was so unique you had that gift to make others smile,

especially with that black, black hair and that cute little hairstyle.

The way you looked at Frankie was a look like no other,

especially when you learned how to speak and said the word “Brudder”.

Feeding time was interesting and never was a bore,

you loved to take Frankie’s food and throw it on the floor.

But in Grandma’s eyes and outstretched arms there was never any troubles,

especially when she held up a lollipop and you would call them “Bubbles”.

You always had Grandpa on your mind saying “Pappa” day and night.

You would give Pappa a beautiful smile and hug him so tight.

Your cousins were so proud of you and always wanted you around,

even though Brett would try to kiss you and tackle you to the ground.

Jessica wanted you near all the time and never let you wander off far,

we all loved to hear you call her because you’d call her “Ca-Ca”.

Everyday with you was special to David and me because you were our little Godson.

Just the other day I got to see you play and run.

Your Daddy was always so proud of you and you lit up his face with joy.

You were his pride, his little man, and his precious little boy.

Your Mommy’s feelings for you were full of such strong love and affection.

Anyone could see you both had a special bond and connection.

We will think of you each day and how you brought us so much cheer.

Oh how we wish that you could still be here.

But we know you are safe in heaven and your sweet memories still live on,

and if we always hold on to all the good times you will never truly be gone.

You’ll always be in our hearts and you will be truly missed,

we love you, we cherish you,

Our sweet baby Nicholas.

In loving memory of Nicholas Alexander Arnold

our sweet baby boy,

Love Aunt Denise
